Deep Sea Mining - Posh Tide

Deep Sea Mining

Today I read a disturbing post on Twitter about deep sea mining. Industries are pushing to mine in pristine marine areas. Imagine plumes of silt covering delicate marine life, disrupting the vertical migration of tiny creatures that supply oxygen and CO2 exchange. Imagine the extinction of the incredible scaly foot snail, a creature that builds its shell out of iron to withstand the heat of the volcanic vents it lives near. I'm not a scientist, but even I can see extinction and environmental disaster on the horizon. There is so much going on in the world today. I hope we can at least develop policies to protect our planet (which is 71% water)....
